Beaches in Antibes and Juan les Pins

Beach Life: Juan les Pins is particularly known for its famous sand beaches.

StrenderFrom the house it is only 1.2 km – about 15 minute walk – to the beaches in Juan les Pins, and about the same to the Salis beach in Antibes. We mostly go to the Juan beach, but it’s good to have several choices: wind is often different on the two sides of the Cap d’Antibes peninsula, so when there is a lot of wind in Juan, it is often calm in Antibes (and vice versa).

Juan les Pins is by many considered to have the finest sand beaches on the Alpes Maritimes coastline. The Juan bay is full of “Plage privée” beaches, but if you do not need a sunbed and service (which is very nice though) the public beaches are a good alternative.

If you want to rent beach chairs it is advisable to book it ahead, especially in high season and especially if you want to lie close to the sea (Bord de la mer). We often like to be on the small public beach / stone pier below the Café de la Plage.

When we rent chairs, we often choose le Colombier, Helios or Douce Plage in Juan or le Royal in Antibes which has a fantastic situation and very nice service (ask for Bertrand and say hello from us). Most beach facilities open before Easter and stay open until October!

There are also great beaches in Antibes-side, especially the Salis beach with superb views of the old town, Nice and the mountains behind. Around Cap d’Antibes, there are also many small beaches and cliffs where you can enjoy the day. In Cannes, the large public beach below the Film Festival centre may also be recommended.
